--NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS--

--7th and 8th grade Cityside boys soccer is cancelled for practice today due to field conditions.

--The 7th Grade Volleyball team started the season on fire with a decisive victory over Grand Haven Blue on Thursday.  The girls won all three games by a wide margin:  25-15, 25-11, and 15-6.  Numerous players deserve mention for this all-around team effort.  Serving standouts include Macie Moore and Mirra Fenlon.  Play at the net was dominated by Caroline Baker and Georgia Pennington.  Setters Julia Boersma and Paityn Burke made significant contributions all afternoon.  Phenomenal passing from Arelly VanderMaas, Soraya Martinez, and Kennedy Inman kept the ball in play at key points in the match.  The Chix have a home contest on Tuesday against Grand Haven Gold at 4:00.

--The 8th Grade Volleyball team traveled to Grand Haven Lakeshore Blue Thursday evening to kick off their season. The Chix fell short in three sets against a strong team; 9-25, 24-26, and 12-15 but they never quit fighting. Brylee Boetsma and Emerson DeBoer served power at critical times. Mady Cavadas and Selah Huizenga created power at the net. The entire team played aggressive and won many points because of their scrappiness. The Chix will be home next Tuesday against Grand Haven Gold! East Pride!

--The 7th grade boys soccer team ran into a very good Holland team yesterday. Even with signs of improvement in the second half by the Cityside team the Dutch came out with the victory 0-7.  We travel to West Ottawa next Tuesday September 17 to take on the Panthers at 4:00.
